Reflection:
I love learning. I'm addicted to learning and I'm not ashamed to say it.
Learning something new everyday is a core value of mine. You should be addicted to your core values...that is why they are core values. If you aren't addicted to them, then you should probably do some deep thinking and reflection to determine if that really still belongs on your list.
A Core Value should be something that is so engrained into the actions that you do each day that the 2 of your are almost inseparable. I think where a lot of people struggle is in figuring out if they REALLY love something or not in the first place to invest everyday of their life into actions that reflect that value.
If I asked you right now to name a new activity that you could do the rest of your life and not ever seemingly get tired of because it fit you so well, you'd probably think, "How the hell am I supposed to know that?" Fair question and you're right, no one can know that until they test it out.
That is where a tool like Ultralearning can really come into play and help you to try out new values and activities in an immersive way to really find out if that reflects or unlocks a value deep inside and see if they are a mutual fit. It's like speed learning and a perfect solution to this dilemma. Instead of committing the rest of your days to doing something or living a certain way, learn a way to get to a proficient level quickly and see if it sticks. You'll know it when it sticks or not. If it doesn't, no harm no foul. If it does, it just might change your life.
My Cofounder of ClubAny and I have a question we like to ask people, "What is your favorite day of the week and why?". We ask this for a very specific reason. If someone says it is Friday or a Weekend, you know that they haven't really found that activity yet in their life that they are addicted to and beautifully reflects who they are at their core. Because, if they had, their answer would be Monday because they would be itching to get back to work on whatever it was that they were doing.
Writing and Tennis are like that for me. I can't stop thinking about them. I dream about them. I try to spend as much time as I can with them. When I set the boundary of taking a few days off each week from them for balance's sake, all I can think about is how hard it is to stop and how much I can't wait to resume. I
If you don't have that in your life yet, check out Ultralearning and go immerse yourself in a new world and see if it fits your values and gives you that itch. And if you already have that itch, try Ultralearning as well because we all have time for new activities that we are really addicted to and reflect our values. The point is to never stop learning and searching for ways to express your values in all that you do EVERY DAY!
Question: What is some new activity you'e been wanting to try on to see if it fits your identity?
